Off with her head!

This realm is for grown ups; raw, well-ordered, ruthless, careening on the jagged edge of reality. Self-pitying dreamers are not wanted here. They cannot survive here...

This is my personal vision of what Alice Madness Returns might of been if Alice retreated instead of fighting the Queen of Hearts during the final scenes of American McGee's Alice.

Alice is placed on trial in Queensland for the crime of failing to regain her sanity.
So here's my first real tribute to Alice Madness Returns, I'm not sure my 'American McGee's Sonic' idea is really taking off at be honest. Mixing a Japanese blue talking hedgehog with a horror game based on an 19th century children's novel, I dunno. I'll finish the two I started but I might call it quits from there. Tbh like most of the work I abandon, it's just more hassle than I feel its worth. But this I am proud of though. I'm worried I made the pic look far too busy but I suppose having artwork that has too much going on is better than not having enough going on, right?
The idea in my head was that the characters of Wonderland would be a little more spread out in the courtroom, but taking size and proportons into account, they ended up taking a lot more of the page than I had hoped. I couldn't even fit in the Mock Turtle and Bill McGill as originally planned, but ah it's fine. I plan on doing three more American McGee's Alice/Alice Madness Returns pics anyway; one of all of the cast in the Hatters domain having a massive wild tea party, one of Alice in Queensland trying to play crocket against the Queen by skinning a mechanical flamingo with her vorpal blade and another of The Queen ordering all of the residents of Wonderland who refuse to slave in the mines be chained and beheaded.

But anyway onto this pic, it's probably so busy you can't even tell whats going on. Basically Alice is in the Queen of Hearts sinister, pulsing castle, being sentenced by the Queen for failing to regain her sanity. As you can see she previously attempted to slit her wrists to end her misery but failed. In the courtroom you can see The Dutchess, The Chesire cat, a Card Guard and the Executioner while on the right is The Mad Hatter, March Hare, Doormouse, two more Card Guards and the Jabberwock. The White Rabbit acting as Alice's defense attorney and The Queen herself as the judge.
I have over a thousand screencaps of the game on my hard drive that I've taken for reference over the past few months, fact I litually had to take 2 hours away from drawing this pic just to organise them all, I had so many tabs and windows open the laptop could barely function at all. Either way I'm happy with the way this pic turned out, but not entirely satisfied. A large part of me felt I could of done a lot more to it, add more shading and detail to make the pic stand out more (I bet you can't even tell there's actually a giant heart growing in the centre of the courtroom) where as the other side of me is already worried the pic is bursting at the seams and if I add anymore detail I'll run the risk of ruining it like I felt I did here:
Either way I'm happy with at least the way the characters turned out, having never drawn any of them before (apart from caricatures my American McGee's Sonic pics) it was a real challange and I felt I succeeded to some degree.
P.S. If you look extremely hard you can see 3 hearts growing out of the brickwork in the scenery. I dare you to spot them!
