Sonic Adventure Minecraft is a project I've dedicated myself to for the past 4 years now.
The goal of the project is to bring the entire world of Sonic Adventure into Minecraft and give it new life as a huge Open World sim, rather than just an action game. The city of Station Square is going to be absolutely huge, rivalling the likes of Grand Theft Auto in scale while still paying homage to the Sonic Universe in which it's set.

Every single action stage from Sonic Adventure will be faithfully recreated and presented in the world of Minecraft as you remember it but with new areas to explore to add to the experience.
The crown jewel of it all though will be with the city of Station Square itself. Miraculous detail has gone into building the city from just a simple hub world into a unique, living breathing city. There are hundreds of places to explore from water parks, casinos, department stores, shopping malls, apartment buildings, subways, train stations, Chao gardens and much more.

In the current build of the game you can explore a huge chunk of the city, all of Speed Highway, parts of Twinkle Park, Casinopolis and the Mystic Ruins as well as 4 huge shopping malls, department stores, hotels, train stations and many other interiors.
The finished build of the project will feature the entire game of Sonic Adventure fully recreated in an open world, merged in with the entire city of Station Square that was featured in the Sonic X TV series as well as many unique locations of my own design.

The entire map in the final build will be populated with thousands of unique NPCS as well as many other Sonic characters that will cameo throughout the game and can even tag along with you on your adventure.
It will be years however before this all comes to fruition so until then I'll keep updating with progress and will release updated builds here at least once a year.

You will need to be using Minecraft 1.6.4 to run the map properly unless you're willing to update and run the included files yourself. Everything you'll need will be provided for with the download file however.

:: Shenmue Minecraft ::

Shenmue Minecraft, like Sonic Adventure Minecraft above, is going to be a huge open world sim set within the world of Shenmue. The entire world of Shenmue 1, 2 and 3 will be faithfully recreated in the project as you remember it but the world itself will also be heavily expanded to offer new areas to explore.

Yokosuka is going to be a huge open world city with many unique places to explore. The newly built train station in Amihama will act as a hub to let you explore other locations around Asia that weren't originally even featured in Shenmue including Tokyo, Shanghai, Guiyang, Maceu and Quebec to name a few.

There will be tons of content to explore in the final build of the project and thousands of unique NPC's you can interact and converse with as well. All of your favorite characters from the series will feature in the game as well as fun easter egg cameos from other well known Sega franchises hidden throughout the map.

:: Sonic Craft Adventure ::

Sonic Craft Adventure is a huge Sonic fan project i'm working on within Minecraft.
The project is going to be a massive action platformer paying tribute to both the early and modern Sonic the Hedgehog games from his 25 year history while still being completely original in it's own design.
There are going to be over 30 unique worlds you can explore within the game, each with their own different branching pathways and routes making each playthrough completely unique.

The entire game within itself is going to be a tribute celebrating Sonic's entire history. Many memorable characters, enemies and locations will also feature and cameo within the game as you progress with a much bigger reward given to those who manage to complete the game and defeat Dr. Eggman.

:: Project Gangnam ::

This was a project that originally started off as a small experimental passion project revolving around members of the Korean pop band SHINee but quickly evolved into a huge open world second life simulator that's now become both my passion and my main focus going forward.

Project Gangnam is an open world role playing game where you play as a member of SHINee and together the five of you are running a small restaurant in the heart of Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The interesting twist of the game is that it's not just a restaurant simulator. Outside of the restaurant is an entire, densely populated open world to explore. There's plenty to see and do outside of work hours, you can eat at fast food restaurants, go shopping at the mall, buy clothes in any of the local department stores, visit the huge indoor theme park and tech expo, watch movies at the large multiplex cinema, play indoor go karting or hit the swimming baths at the recreation centre, visit Gangnam's underground subway station, visit a music concert and see your favourite bands perform on stage, visit the park, relax and read a book, walk along the riverbank or just chill at your apartment until the day's over.

It's more of a second life simulator than a job simulator and how you tackle the game is entirely up to you.
Having other friends to play with is highly recommended.

:: Katherine And Hippoloid ::

This is a project of mine that I've been passionately taking about for years yet have very little to show for in terms of progress, but Katherine and Hippoloid was my first project that I started when I was 15 and have been very enthusiastic and passionate about ever since.
It's a 5 part story about a girl named Katherine and her best friend Rhys who (while never explained in the story) both have superhuman like abilities to be able to defy gravity and basically travel around the world as freely as a feather.
But in the story their entire world is under attack from an alien invasion lead by an evil tyrant known only as Untitled and a secret resistance group lead by a small hippo named Hippoloid join forces with Katherine & Rhys in an effort to stop the invasion and save both of their worlds from Untitled's rule.

Outside of concept character artwork and the story itself I don't have much to share on the project but I really do hope in the future to be able to turn this into my own video game series, animated series or at the very least a web comic.

This is a project I've been passionate about for most of my entire life now.

Hey guys, welcome to my DA page.

Here I plan to bring you all my latest projects for the future as well as upload all my artwork and photography.
My main aspiration in life is to make it big as an animator and game designer, I hopefully wanna move to the big city and set up my own little art studio so I can make my dream happen.

::Just a quick update::

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update to let everyone know whats going on.
I did have a bigger journal planned and prepared but decided to brush it under the rug just for a quick update to let you all know I'm not dead.

I've been really busy with work the last couple of months so most of my other ventures have unfortunately had to take a backseat because of it and probably will for a long time.
Going forward the only two projects I'm really going to be focusing on are SMTown (which I've decided now to rename Project Gangnam) and Sonic Craft Adventure.

Both of these projects I have an unbelievable amount of passion for and progress has been incredible so far.
I'm planning to release a new video update soon and even an early access beta build of Project Gangnam so you can see for yourself what's been accomplished.

This I know is a huge disappointment for those who were fans of my Sonic Adventure and Shenmue Minecraft projects but I just can't spare the time right now for all of these projects and going forward, these are the two I'd much rather focus on as they truly feel like they're both my own creations, rather than merely adapting another work that already exists.

That's not to say I didn't have any passion for the latter two projects nor am I planning on canning them in anyway but for the time being I'd much rather focus all the time I can spare on the former two projects rather than the latter.

It's frustrating but my job unfortunately takes up more time than I wish it did as I basically have to work around the clock just to be able to get by every week.

I'm contemplating moving into a smaller apartment just to not have to stress over living expenses as much but at the same time I really don't want to have to give up half my possessions and move into a rougher neighbourhood just to have more money in the bank.
It's rough but all I can really do right now is just go with the tide and see where it takes me.

Going back to my projects though I do still want to try and make the time on the side to get back into art and making web comics when I can ever find the time for it.
I'm trying to convert space in my home for an office/art studio area and even bought some professional equipment to help me going forward but again, finding the free time has always been my biggest obstacle.

But for the future I do at the very least want to see Project Gangnam, Sonic Craft Adventure and when It'll ever get started, Katherine and Hippoloid completed.

Goodness me. I started Katherine and Hippoloid when I was 15 and STILL have never even so much finished a script, finished designing the characters or have done much of anything to bring this series to life, despite how often I mention it on this page.
It's embarrassing.

It's always on the forefront of my mind though and I'm constantly experimenting with fresh ideas to bring the series forward.

Hopefully soon I can book some time off work and actually start implementing them.
Start really bringing this series to life.
I wanna start this series off as a 4 part web series with a potential 5th and 6th installment on the side if I feel I have it in me.
From there I'll see what I can do about turning this series into an actual game but I at the very least want this project to exist in some form or another before anything major can happen.

But yeah, to wrap this up. I'm not dead, I'm somewhat more active on my YouTube page than I am on here but I will still come by with updates every now and so on. I still do art on the side and have even started a rough draft for Dr. Eggman's Cross Dimensional Adventure and Robotnik in Wonderland so yeah, those are another two projects of mine which I assure are not dead or forgotten.

But going forward, Project Gangnam, Sonic Craft Adventure and Katherine and Hippoloid will be my central focus with everything else being kept on the wayside.

I did have a sequel to Sonic Craft Adventure planned but I've decided to merge both games together into one huge game instead. This'll save me a lot of time having to rebuild all the assets, a new base and a new engine for the sequel to run on, it'll just basically play like Sonic 3 & Knuckles where the second game starts right where the first game ends.

So yeah don't be surprised about not hearing anything from Sonic Craft Adventure 2, it's just basically all one big game now with the second game starting right where the first game would of originally ended.

::Sonic Mania Keyring, SMTown and Sonic Adventure 4K::

Hey everyone! Just a quick update on a few things.
As I promised in the previous journal, the Sonic Mania keyrings arrived so here are few photos showing them off as well as some of the other keyrings I've had made over the years.

I'm still on the bench over whether I'll actually do an apartment tour video or not. Even though I've been here almost a year now I still feel this apartment is far from complete, or at least to my vision of what I want the place to actually look like.
I still have plenty of posters I need to get framed, plants and shelves I need to buy, a bigger stand for my TV, etc.

I'm probably making a fuss over nothing, but I'd rather show this place off when I feel it's completely finished as opposed to just throwing a camera around the place as it is now. I dunno.

But anyway onto the actual update. I've made a new video showing off the progress with my current project, SMTown.
The amount of progress thats been made within a single month is nothing short of amazing.
The entire city is at least a good 50% complete now and all thats really left to do is finish making the buildings, do all the interiors of each building and then populate with the NPCS.

I plan on eventually making a lot more NPC's for the map because I only have roughly 500+ so far and I want at the very least a good 700 or 800 total. (Thats for unique NPCS btw, obviously I will clone them to increase the population as all open world games do)

But anyway, in the video I show off the progress made with certain locations and buildings within the map, mostly Gangnam Station, Crimson World, Cafe Amy and the Sports Expo.

As for one final update. A long while back I made a video playthrough of Sonic Adventure DX in 4K. I've put off uploading it for a long while now because the file size was so big that it would take days just to upload each individual part but now I'm slowly getting off my ass and am finally doing it.
For anyone who's interested in seeing what the games actually looks like in 4K, here's the first part.

Please bear in mind that each part of these videos is roughly 5-6GB each and I have really slow internet here so it takes me like an entire day just to upload 10-15 minutes worth of footage so updates will be slow, but I am determined to get this out the way with.

I also need to get around to uploading the rest of the Alice Madness Returns playthrough I uploaded years back and then kinda just abandoned for the exact same reasons and I have a load of other playthrough videos all sitting on my hard drive for again, the same reason.

If you keep an eye on my YouTube channel you should hopefully see something you like.

Update - 5/9/16
I just wanted to throw this in here instead of making another journal about it, but I've decided to include Kai from Exo as a playable character in my SM Town Project.

Basically to cut a long story short, the original plan with this project was to release multiple versions of the same game when it was finished, with each version tweaked and tailored for each playable member of the group. (A specific version for people wanting to play as Onew, a specific version for people wanting to play as Minho, etc)

But anyway, in the version I'm currently working on, I'm playing as Taemin, but I wanted to have an AI handled clone of Taemin in the restaurant on standby so when I work on the other versions of the game, I don't have to keep making different clones of Taemin for each unique version, I can just have one stay put in the restaurant with the other AI members of Shinee while I work on the game and then cut, copy and paste elements when I need to later on.

Anyway, cutting to the chase I didn't like the idea of having a clone of Taemin in the restaurant while I'm already playing as the 'Real Taemin' so I've decided to include Kai from Exo in the game and have him be the unofficial 6th member of the group, seeing as him and Taemin are already close friends in real life.

I'll make him a part time waiter in the restaurant on the side or maybe a porter to assist Onew in the Kitchen as I admit they do need one.
I'll either give him his own apartment next to the Shinee members (as there are a lot of empty, unused apartments in the building) or I'll just have him simply share and bunk up with Taemin, seeing as how his apartment already has the best view in the building and its the apartment I'm currently using anyway.

Anyway consider Kai the unofficial 6th member of the group for now and maybe later down the line I'll either add him into the game officially as an AI character or just have him as an optional 6th character on the side for those who want him.

Wow, I have so much to talk about.
As always sorry for hardly ever being around. Deviantart really takes a backseat these days as I'm just always far too busy to be here. But a lot has happened over the past few months and I have so much to talk about.

First of all, wow. Sonic Mania and what possibly is Sonic Generations 2! I am ecstatic! I never know how to feel about Sonic because it always just seems to be total pot luck with Sega, you never know if your going to get a good game or a bad game every year.

I think it was Jimmy Whetzel who compared the Sonic series to the lottery in which you get your hopes up every year with only a slim chance you'll find a winner in the pile, but whatever I'm rambling!
Sonic Generations 2 or whatever the new 3D Sonic game could be I'm hyped for, but Sonic Mania really has my attention! This is the kind of game I've been wanting to see from Sega ever since Sonic and Knuckles released and I was always so disappointed that it never happened.

As far as I'm concerned Sonic Mania is my Sonic 4 and like SomecallmeJohnny put it, it really does bring you back to the 90's and make you feel like a kid again!
Christian Whitehead really does share my passion when it comes to retro Sonic and I'm really happy he's getting to make his own game and have it officially published by Sega.
Seriously I cannot wait.

I'm even tempted to have the Sonic Mania title screen logo turned into a custom keyring or or phone cover or something just to show my support! I've had the trailer song stuck in my head all day long now!

I'm really interested to see what they're going to do with the new 3D sonic title as well. If it really is Sonic Generations 2 I'm curious if they'll take it even further and add in even more incarnations of Sonic and Robotnik from all the various cannons.

How awesome would that be to bring in the SatAM, AOSTH, Underground, Sonic X, Boom, OVA and Adventure cast into it as well.
There could even be a funny running joke where every single time AOSTH Robotnik tries to open his mouth, modern Eggman would scream at him "YOU DON'T GET TO TALK!!!"
Ahh I dunno, it could be fun.

But yeah, 2017 really does seem like it's going to be a great year for gaming. Two hopefully fantastic Sonic games for a change, Shenmue 3, PS4 Neo, Playstation VR, Xbox one Scorpio, Nintendo NX, God damn...

But back on to what's new with me.
The first piece of big news I wanted to share is that I've actually started working on a new project that I'm very excited about.

It's called SMTown. It's going to be an open world life simulator set in Seoul where you play as a member of SHINee and together with a group of friends you're trying to open up your own restaurant and help the business prosper.
Each member of the group has their own role to play so Taemin and Key are the waiters, Onew is the chef, Minho is the bartender and Jonghyun is the manager.

If you're playing solo the game will set you up with Taemin by default with AI characters controlling the other members of the group, but if you have 4 other friends you can bring to the party the game will be a lot more enjoyable.

The interesting twist in all of this is that it's not just a restaurant simulator. You have a large open world Seoul to explore with plenty to go outside of work. You can go shopping, hit the arcades, go karting, swimming, visit the park, chill at your apartment, there's loads to do!

I'm really studying the city of Seoul in immense detail and am planning to make every single detail as accurate as possible while still adding my own twist to things.

I'm really hoping this will impress because I have a huge passion for creating open world games and love to see just how far I can push things with Minecraft.

Speaking of which, a lot of improvements have been made with Sonic Craft Adventure as well. I've now begun adding in enemies to the environments and have cleaned up and added a ton of detail to the stages as well.
Tropical falls act 1 is very nearly complete. I still need to add in small details and all the animal NPCs but it's coming together really well so far.

Hopefully by the next update all of Tropical falls and Neo Metropolis will be ready but I will admit I'm focusing all of my attention on SM Town right now as I really want to see this project come to fruition.

I actually am planning to make a sequel to Sonic Craft Adventure when the game is complete as well. Years ago I had this great idea for a Sonic Adventure 3 fan game and I spent ages coming up with interesting concepts for levels, bosses, abilities, etc.

It later hit me that it could be really awesome if I was to take these ideas and put them into a sequel for Sonic Craft Adventure instead so thats exactly what I'm planning to do.
I go into more detail about it in the video above but I really can't wait to be able to show it off and talk more about it. I have some really fantastic ideas that I'd love to bring to life.

I even at some point much later on want to make a minecraft world dedicated to Tron uprising and even Mobius from The Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog! I think Minecraft is honestly just going to become my whole life from here on out. I'm addicted!

I do want to state that by all means none of this means I'm abandoning my other projects. I'm trying to condense things down and focus on only one or two projects at any given time but those two projects can often switch around at any given time depending on where my mood is.

I really do hope fans of my Sonic Adventure and Shenmue Minecraft projects aren't disappointed by this but I am just more passionate about these newer projects that I feel I can call my own as opposed to those two which are merely recreations of other people's work with my own spin added to them.

Again, I'm not abandoning either project or any of my side projects either, but going forward I really would like to devote a lot more of my time into SM Town and Sonic Craft Adventure 1 and 2 first because I truly do have so much passion for them.

When all of this is done I really do feel I should make a good start with Katherine and Hippoloid as I'm honestly just begining to absolutely hate myself for constantly bringing this project up yet still to this day barely have anything to show for it.

I want to make it my life goal to make sure this project comes to fruition someday. If I can't do it as a game then at the very least a comic, or something!
This is sometime I really do want to share with the world yet am constantly getting sidetracked by other things. I don't blame anyone but myself but it is something I feel I'm never hard enough on myself for.

Ugh, I really wish I had all the time in the world to work on these things. It's become my obsession, if not a lifelong goal of mine to win the lottery just so I can buy a nice house for myself somewhere and retire early.
That's honestly all I want out of life anymore and all I ever fantasise about when I'm at work.
Just being able to live each day as I see fit, get out and travel more, have a really nice house with a private garden I can just fit out in and play 3DS in or listen to music...

Even without the lottery I can still do these things but just not being tied to a full time job and still having the money to live easy, thats what I really want out of life.

If I can save up £300,000 I can at least buy a nice house for myself somewhere and make most of these desires come true. I do have a pretty nice apartment here for what I pay and even have my own little mini gym but it's still just not enough for me and my desires.

What I really want is a nice 5 bedroom detached house somewhere quiet away from it all. A huge living room with a cinema/gaming entertainment centre, a plush bedroom where I can lie in bed and watch tv or play handheld games in, a garden I can just sit and relax in, a home gym, my own little mini gaming museum/library, a room dedicated to VR with the virtuix omni or cyberith treadmill hooked up into it...
but best of all, I want to build my own private arcade.

Out of everything that's something I definitely want to do when I move out of this apartment, even if its just into a 3 bedroom apartment, I would LOVE to build my own gaming arcade.

I even have it all planned out, Im going to buy 8 different tvs, secondhand xbox 360's, PC table stands, joysticks, steering wheels, etc and have each xbox act as an arcade cabinet with one game loaded into it.
Sonic the fighters, the simpsons arcade, outrun, afterburner, king of fighters, daytona usa, sega rally... it'll be amazing.
I'll even have the room kitted out and designed to look like Segaworld London back in the late 90's when that place still existed.

That place was the absolute pinnacle of nostalgia for me so this would be the perfect way to honour the memories I had there.

I even want to try and get my hands on a giant Sonic statue for it but those things are next to impossible to find, even though they bloody exist!
It's not even so much a case of money, they're just damn impossible to find!

Ugh, anyway, I really do need to organise myself a work schedule to keep on top of things.
I'm trying to get into the daily habit of jogging and exercising every morning before work and lifting weights before bed but all it takes is one lazy day and I'm thrown off my schedule completely.
I'm definitely getting better but I still have a long way to go.

I've really gotten back into Animal Crossing lately though and have made that part of my daily routine.
I had this idea to try and recreate all of Yaughton from Everybody's gone to the Rapture in the game but work in some of the other ideas I had that never had a chance to come to fruition like my alice madness returns themed town, a sega themed town and a studio ghibli themed town.

I'm trying to condense all those ideas into this and it's coming together surprisingly well. I've really forgotten how much fun this game is.
it's thankfully not eating up all my free time, I only find myself spending half an hour a day on it when I wake up in the morning before I go jogging but I admit that's mostly due to the perfect fruit basket glitch.
Honestly I don't even care if it's cheating, I dont have the time to waste spending hours at the island catching beetles every night. Sod it!

I'll share my towns dream address and my pattern designs when they're done. Hopefully you'll be impressed, I really went out of my way to keep it faithful to Everybody's gone the the rapture's source material, from Father Jeremy and his Parish to Katherine Collins at Valis Observatory, Wendy Boyles bossing the other villagers about to Lizzie Graves trying to keep the community alive, it's all here!

Seriously Everybody's gone to the rapture really was a beautiful game. For those who haven't played it, I honestly cannot recommend it enough. The story is really hard to fully grasp the first time but once you've played it and understood what happened, it really is hauntingly beautiful. And a really interesting setting for a video game as well. England rarely gets any decent attention when it comes to video games but it's recreated to such an impressive level of detail here, it's amazing!
It really is.

Anyway, sorry this journal is dragging on for AGES, I'm trying to get all my thoughts out there in this one journal so I don't have to keep checking in with constant updates over small things.
I honestly prefer it this way, just every few months come here and make a long journal about everything thats going on in my life rather than just making lots of little mini journals here and there.

One thing I definitely need to mention though is Storytime with Dr. Robotnik.
I mentioned it in the previous journal that it was being worked on but never actually came back to let you all know that it's finished.
I apologise for that. As soon as it was done I moved right on to other things but it actually has been finished for quite a long time now.

It is INCREDIBLY OFFENSIVE, so much so that I'm not even sure if I will post it to DeviantArt or not. I mean I very openly cuss and make constant light of racism, pedofillia and everything else you could find offensive.
It's definitely more offensive than Robotnik in Wonderland so if that story was too salty for you, you probably might wanna stay away but for everyone else who does want to see it, it's in the link above.

I really do need to get back into uploading art and photography at some point in the near future as well.
I still do photography on the side btw. Every now and then I like to visit Birmingham and London and walk around taking photos of the city while listening to music on my phone.
I never got around to sorting through them but here's a quick sample of a few personal favorites.

I have some really cool ideas for art I'd love to do in the future as well. I have this really cool idea for a series of sketches parodying the animal crossing series, kinda like I was doing with Shenmue even though I sorta abandoned that after the 4th one... (sorry about that btw)

but yeah if I ever get around to it I'd like to work on them. I even wanna throw in a random joke where Consuela from Family Guy replaces one of the NPCS like Tom Nook or Sable so like the player is trying to use the QR machine and Consuela is sewing in Sable's chair and is like "No.... No...." despite how often the player asks, or maybe they're in Nook's homes and the player is trying to buy a new door but already had a house expansion and Consuela taking Tom Nook's place just won't let him have it.

Anyway I better wrap this up.

Just wanted to mention briefly as well, I found my Sonic Adventure Minecraft project a while back being featured on an online casino of all places!
I don't have the link to it on me but that really took me by surprise!
I don't know if I should be flattered or flabbergasted by it but it's just so weird seeing my work there as it has NOTHING to do with online gambling.
Wierd...

I was really tempted to order a Sonic Mania mousemat as well but knew I wouldn't have any practical use for it so held off the temptation.

I'll make a journal showing them off when they arrive. I even had some custom Shenmue, Katherine and Hippoloid and Lee Taemin keyrings made from them in the past. Vistaprint the company is called.

There's also another cool website I use called Posterjacks that makes custom posters in whatever size I want.
I had over 30 of them made for my apartment but buying the frames to hang them up with are so expensive I can just never spare the money for them. Here's a few photos of some I did get framed though.

I still haven't forgotten I promised a room tour for you all. My last apartment was a dump and tbh even though I took the photos I just didn't want to upload them with the place looking the way it did. This apartment isn't so bad but it's still not finished in my eyes so when it's done and I have everything looking how I want it, I may do a room tour then instead.
(Though to be honest I have a LOT of expensive effects here and do NOT want to give anyone a reason to come find me and rob me, so... who knows?)
